The cherry blossom viewing season is coming soon!

Hey there!

It’s starting to feel like spring here at the base of Mt. Fuji. The temperature’s been above 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit) most days recently, and I’m getting excited! The cherry blossoms are due to bloom earlier than usual this year, and I’m guessing that global warming might have something to do with it.

Typically, the cherry blossoms around the northern foothills of Mt. Fuji reach their peak around mid-April. But lately, they’ve been blooming earlier, towards the end of March, and looking their best in early April. Based on the latest forecast(https://www.japan-guide.com/sakura/), I think the prime time to catch the blooms in this area will be the first week of April.

When we stop at Oshino Village on our e-bike tour, there’s a must-see cherry blossom spot: Shinnashogawa River. It’s got some beautiful Someiyoshino cherry trees blooming alongside the river, with the spectacular Mt. Fuji view in the background.

Cherry blossoms are fleeting things; they only last a couple of weeks from when they start blooming until they reach their peak. But that’s what makes them uniquely Japanese, and why so many people love them. They’re like the epitome of ephemeral beauty.

Spring and early summer are the most refreshing seasons. Why don’t you join us and ride around the foot of Mt. Fuji in this season on an e-bike?
